For the last 2 years Eustace has been back and forth to Miami and teaching private classes from his home in Ennis. After spending the last year teaching he began to get a deeper understanding of the art and an even greater respect for it. "I have seen how much it has changed peoples lives for the better, including my own and it is my goal to share the knowledge that I have been given from all my previous teachers. I love the family atmosphere I experience every time I go to Fight Sports in Miami and it is my goal to replicate that same togetherness in Fight Sports Clare" explained John.
John began his training 3 years ago in Limerick, where he learned street defense techniques and Japanese Jiu-Jitsu for 1 year. After that John went to Australia and trained full time for 1 year under World Champion Black belt Professor Paulo Guimareas. Paulo had also taught his BJJ Unarmed Combat & Self Defence program to the 5th Guard Company – Amazon Jungle Division for the Brazilian Army. Showing soldiers and officials all the efficiency and superiority of BJJ in survival man to man combat. "Training in Sydney was tough but very rewarding and I owe a lot to both Paulo and Daniel Sainty for introducing me to The Gentle Art" stated John.
After Sydney John returned home where he began training in the Combat Sport Centre in Limerick under Brown belt Fergal Quinlan. It was in this club where Eustace met Roberto 'Cyborg' Abreu who had come over from Miami to do a seminar. Since his time in Sydney John had already been training 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day, so when Cyborg told John he could come to Miami to train and live in the gym he jumped at the chance to train full time and learn from Master Cyborg.
